ASTRA

Our Mission is to inspire, educate and enrich our youth via the theater experience.

Using theater as a tool, we will help our students develop their soft skills as well as further their theater arts experience.

Program Goals

The 2019-2020 school year will mark the second year of the ASTRA program. This exciting after school program is offered to Junction City Middle School students.

Spring Semester, 2020, begins on January 14, for 6th, 7th and 8th Grade Youth.  We will hold auditions on Tuesday, January 14 and Thursday, January 16.   The youth will be notified via email to parents, as well as the CL Hoover Opera House and Mr. Schwan’s Classroom, of the cast list for our spring musical, ALICE IN WONDERLAND, Jr.  The kids will be given music and choreography to learn for their final audition on January 16th.

This program is designed to not only be a fun experience, but also a life preparatory course.

Using the theater arts as a tool, the instructors will teach the following soft skills:

  • Communication
  • Organization
  • Teamwork
  • Punctuality
  • Critical Thinking
  • Social Skills
  • Creativity
  • Interpersonal Communication
  • Adaptability
  • Friendliness

What's in a Day?

PARENTS/CAREGIVERS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR PICKING UP THEIR CHILDREN NO LATER THAN 5:45 p.m.
